This year at the MWC we got to see some great smartphones from Sony but looks like the company is not done just yet. They have recently unveiled a new entry level phone titled as the Sony Xperia L1. It’s a new series and the Sony Xperia L1 Cairo price is still a mystery at this point. However, before getting to the specs and Sony Xperia L1 release date Egypt, we will discuss the price. As it’s the first phone in this new series, there is no pricing history to look for. Sony did promise that it will be an “economical” phone so we are guessing the price range will be around 4800 to 6700 EGP when it’s here.
For those who are familiar with the designs of Sony smartphones, there is not much to look forward to here as it follows the same design language with thick bezels at the bottom and top. While the shape is similar, it does feature an almost bezel display like the Sony Xperia XZ Premium and Sony Xperia XA1 that was released recently. The 5.5-inch screen will be showing 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and 267ppi of pixel density. This screen will be protected by a scratch-resistant glass but it won’t be a Gorilla Glass protection. It’s surprisingly heavy at 180g and is also quite fat at 8.7mm.
There is not much to look forward to here in the camera department. There is a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash on the back and the selfie camera is a 5-megapixel one. While it’s not the best camera focused phone, it’s definitely not bad for an entry level phone. There is the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Huawei Honor 6X if you want something slightly better than this. Do keep in mind that these are slightly more expensive than the Sony Xperia L1 Cairo price. We will be able to find out more about how the camera performs after the Sony Xperia L1 release date Egypt.
Right out of the box, users will get to enjoy the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. To make sure the phone offers a smooth performance, it’s packing a Mediatek MT6737T quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. It should be good enough for performing basic operations without facing any lag or hassle. Storage might be a problem for some users as it’s only 16GB built-in but there is a microSD card slot as well. It’s powered by a 2620mAh battery without any fast charging support. As most of the phones are aiming for 2800 – 3000mAh batteries if not more, this may be a deal-breaker for some people.
Just like the pricing details, Sony didn’t reveal much about its availability either. However, if you are satisfied with the Sony Xperia L1 Cairo price, you can start looking for it in the market in April, 2017.
